COM141050 - Work lists: features of work lists: filtering and sorting a work list
Some work lists, particularly those monitoring routine work, contain many entries and retain those entries for some time.
Filtering and sorting help you to make the work list more manageable and let you target the more urgent cases on the list.
You can use the [Filter] or [Sort] button at the bottom of a work list screen to:
- filter the list so that only certain types of case appear, such as cases that show a B/F date or your initials in the B/F note
- sort the list into a working priority, such as by age or amount.
Manipulating the work lists in this way does not delete the entries that do not fall into your filtered selection. They are still be accessible when you need them.
More than one operator can filter and sort the same work list at the same time using different terminals. The ‘mini-list’ you create is personal to you and does not affect the list viewed by another operator on another terminal.
Note: COTAX does not update your mini-list for new entries. You should therefore remove all filters at the end of the day.
You can:
- undo the latest filtered and sorted list, reverting back to the previous version of the list, by using the [Undo] button on the work list screen
- undo all the versions of the filtered and sorted list you have created and return to the full work list by using the [Clear] button.
