Gov.UK provides ‘look up’ tools to assist users in identifying the commodity code.

Use the Tariff Tools to identify the commodity code required and any specific measures, prohibitions or restrictions that apply to the goods (especially for the countries concerned) prior to progressing any further.

It is important that the correct ‘Look up’ tool is used for the journey as the controls and revenue charges the goods will be subject to when being declared in GB or NI will be different.

Great Britain:

There is a ‘look up’ tool for goods being imported to or exported from GB and uses the UK Global Tariff. It can be accessed here.

Northern Ireland:

There is also a ‘look up’ tool for goods being imported to or exported from Northern Ireland (NI) and uses the NI Online Tariff. It can be accessed here.
