CDSSG04410 - Combining Procedure Code and Additional Procedure Codes
The Procedure Code (see section CDSSG09000) is only part of the customs procedure. The Procedure Code declared in DE 1/10 needs to be tailored to fit the specific circumstances that apply to the goods through the declaration of Additional Procedure Codes in DE 1/11.
Step 4 of the Navigation Guide directs users to the guidance sections within the UK Trade Tariff, CDS Volume 3 where the necessary information can be found to allow users to identify the compatible DE 1/11 codes.
- Step 4: The 4-digit to 3-digit correlation matrix for the chosen Movement Type should then be used to see which Additional Procedure Codes are permitted for use with the chosen 4-digit Procedure Code
Each Procedure Code restricts the DE 1/11 Additional Procedure Codes that may used. If a DE 1/11 Additional Procedure Code is declared which is not compatible with the Procedure Code declared in DE 1/10 the declaration will be rejected.
Step 4 of the Navigation Guide, for the specific Movement Type being used, directs users to the correlation matrix within the UK Trade Tariff, CDS Volume 3 where the lists of permitted DE 1/10 and DE 1/11 combinations may be found.
It is essential that the correct Movement Type is selected to ensure the correct Procedure and Additional Procedure Combinations are identified. Each Movement Type has its own correlation matrix that should be used. See section CDSSG10030 for more guidance.
