DMBM510980 - Customer contact and data security: telephone contact: noting the record after a telephone call

After finishing a telephone call it is vitally important that you record:

  • the name of the caller and their position
  • the address you verified if its necessary or there is more than one - the house number, first word of address and the postcode
  • the telephone number you have verified if there is more than one
  • who called
  • what verification checks you have completed
  • the nature of the call
  • any agreements made and
  • the next course of action, as appropriate.
