DMBM660860 - Summary proceedings: Debtor’s travelling expenses

Some content of this manual is being considered for archiving. If there is content you use regularly, please email hmrcmanualsteam@hmrc.gov.uk to let us know as soon as possible.

Debtors rarely attend court so you will not often need to pay them travelling expenses.

You may have to pay expenses when your cases have been centralised in one court in the commission area which may be distant from the debtor’s residence and they ask you or the court for travelling expenses.

You should pay enough to cover the cost of travel to the court and if the court requires it, from the court.
