DMBM680080 - Ordinary Cause: Corresponding with the court

Some content of this manual is being considered for archiving. If there is content you use regularly, please email hmrcmanualsteam@hmrc.gov.uk to let us know as soon as possible.

When sending documents or writing to the court address the correspondence to “The Sheriff Clerk”.

It is sufficient to refer to the court forms by their number alone. But if you are writing to a defender and referring to a court form you must also describe it. For example, form O7 – the notice of intention to defend.

Where convenient, correspondence can be delivered to the court by hand. Otherwise use the DX system (or first class post for whatever exceptional circumstance you are unable to use this service).
