IHTM20046 - Life Policies: investigating form IHT403: assignment of the right to a lump sum due under an annuity contract

Where the information given on the form IHT403 indicates that the right to a lump sum due under an annuity contract has been assigned you should do the following.

If it has not been provided with the form IHT400 you should obtain the following information from the taxpayer or agent:

• a copy of the assignment or trust
• the taxpayer’s estimate of the value transferred.

When you have this information you should refer the case to the Actuarial Team for advice.
