IHTM23221 - Procedure in the VOA: outline of the valuation procedure

On receipt of VOA 1 or 2 in the VOA (IHTM23002) the valuation is registered and given a single reference which it will keep during the duration of the referral. (Multi-Unit (IHTM23228) cases – but not part cases within one Unit – will have a separate reference in each Unit.) It then passes through up to 5 stages, depending on its complexity. All time limits run from the date of receipt by the VOA and continue until the valuation is settled. The VOA will let us know if there are problems which need our assistance. The VOA is aware of our statutory powers to obtain information (IHTM32191) in appropriate cases and the potential for us to use these powers on their behalf.
