RM514 - Grading
The outline at RM516 - RM556 `Processing a claim’ and the RA and RO instructions at RM1200- RM1289 show how most claims work will be graded.
This paragraph provides information about RO allocation officers and RE cases.
An RO allocation officer will have overall responsibility for the majority of claims cases including claims made on the simplified claim form R40(SP). There are no RA allocations.
After registration claims made on form R40(SP) should be passed to an RA.
If there is any income below the thick line on the R40(SP) the RA will pass the claim form to the RO allocation officer.
The RO or RA will copy the information from the claim form to the screen using CL .
There is a special RA screen which will allow limited entries. If the entries fall outside these limits the RA will see an error message and must refer the claim to an RO.
