TSI004300 - Community System Providers (CSP): What to notify Customs
It is a condition of a temporary storage operator’s approval that they must note their electronic inventory records and promptly notify Customs Authorities of any prohibited, restricted, un-manifested or suspicious goods detected on arrival into their premises.
The goods will have a unique Inventory Control Reference (ICR), so when an entry is made via CHIEF or CDS, the ICR is submitted within the declaration. At this point, CHIEF or CDS will indicate whether the inventory is cleared via an automated process. If the system shows the goods as uncleared, then there is a time limit of 90 days when goods must be entered to a customs procedure or re-exported.
Goods cannot be removed from Temporary Storage until written permission is given by Customs. This is done via electronic notification from the CSP inventory system.
