TRSM93010 - How to: contents: Get proof of registration: contents: Introduction
The proof of registration document details the trust’s registration and all the beneficial owners listed within it. This includes details of any trustees, settlors and beneficiaries.
A trustee or agent must give a copy of the proof of registration document to a relevant person before they enter a business relationship with their trust (see TRSM70030).
For example, when a trustee opens a bank account, the trustee needs to provide proof of registration to the bank or financial institute to confirm that the trust is registered, and the registration details are correct.
The trustee or agent should check and update the trust’s details before downloading a proof of registration document and sharing it with a relevant person.
