VAEC8380 - Error correction for VAT: Credibility queries: Other unprocessed repayment returns queries
Suspended periods due to queried periods being unresolved
When verifying a return, you should check for any other unprocessed repayment returns shown as suspended on the Vision computer system.
When returning a UCRE to Credibility (321CRED1).
You should inform them whether or not suspended returns can also be released.
Try to resolve the reason for these returns being suspended. If the suspension is due to a missing period, you should initially try to obtain a return for this period from the trader.
If the trader does not render the return, you should
- arrange for a prime assessment to be issued, and
- if a prime assessment has already been issued, issue an additional assessment, if appropriate. This will release the suspended claim for further processing, or
- ask Accounting & Adjustment Banking team to de-suspend the claim return if the centrally issued prime assessment is higher than the established liability on the missing periods and the trader will not render the return for the missing period.
Any such request to Accounting & Adjustment Banking team, EF Team-Tray 360Index, should be made by submitting a VAT 915 via Electronic Folder (EF).
The VAT 915 must be countersigned through the EF Notes system in accordance with the local authority levels
