FHDDS31530 - Approval, revoking the approval and variations: approval – policy: processing the application: requiring a visit to the premises

(The Fulfilment Businesses Regulations 2018, regulation 6)

If we believe that a visit to the business premises is needed to verify information about the premises or the business, contact the applicant with the aim of agreeing a mutually convenient date to visit. Whether or not a date is agreed a notice should be issued setting out the specific date of the proposed visit. If a customer refuses permission to inspect the premises, we must notify the business that their application is treated as withdrawn.

Applications should not be approved until the officer is satisfied with all elements of the application.

HMRC will aim to give a decision within 30 days from that specified date (except during the initial registration year - in that case a decision would have been given by 31 December 2018).
