Due to the number of bases and personnel in the US forces in the UK, separate procedures have been set up for the supply of certain goods covering the importation, storage, distribution and sale of goods by AAFES and traders who have contracts with the US forces.

The AAFES store on each base sells duty free spirits, wines and tobacco to entitled US forces personnel subject to ration limits. The majority of supplies are sourced from AAFES in the USA and usually arrive in the UK via an AAFES distribution centre in Germany. Duty free alcohol can also be purchased from the Shoppette and petrol station on base. To purchase any of these types of goods entitled personnel must produce their military ID and ration card.
All consignments are sealed and AAFES receive prior notification of the seal number.
