In addition to the statutory requirement, in VCM35020, the following must also be provided when completing and submitting the compliance statement SEIS1 to HMRC:
- A company must give the full name of the company, its date of incorporation, the address and the Company Registration Number (CRN). The CRN will have been provided to you at the time of notification to Companies House. The company address should be the registered address of the company which should be the same address as that lodged with Companies House.
- A company must be a qualifying company and provide details such matters as the company’s trade and capital structure.
- A company must provide all of the items listed in VCM60220 in support of their compliance statement to the VCR Team
- A company must meet the growth and development requirement, see VCM8130
- A company and the investment must meet the risk to capital condition, see VCM8530
- If the company has applied for advance assurance for the scheme this should be indicated where applicable on the SEIS1.
The furnishing of a false compliance statement attracts a penalty under S207 ITA2007. The maximum penalty is £3,000.
