Long QT syndrome and driving
You must tell DVLA if you have Long QT syndrome.
You can be fined up to £1,000 if you don’t tell DVLA about a medical condition that affects your driving. You may be prosecuted if you’re involved in an accident as a result.
Car or motorcycle licence
You must not drive if you’ve suffered from:
- loss of consciousness or fainting
- another cardiovascular condition that might affect your ability to drive safely - you must check with your doctor before you drive
You can also fill in form H1 and send it to DVLA. The address is on the form.
Bus, coach or lorry licence
You must not drive.
Fill in form VOCH1 and send it to DVLA. The address is on the form.
