Report summary

On 22 October 1998 Romanian registered ro-ro cargo vessel Octogon 3 ran aground south-east of Spurn Head at the entrance to the River Humber in England. The grounding was caused by the selection of course and no allowance for either wind or tide. The vessel was successful refloated the next day.
