Modules D, E, F and G Assessment: UK21/G002

Adopted EU recommendation GEN-002. UK approved recommendation on the assessment of Modules D, E, F and G.

Question

What documentation should the notified body (NB) issue to the manufacturer for the various production modules?

Recommendation

The Directive clearly requires the notified body to issue to the manufacturer documentation on its findings.

Modules D and E

The notified body after completing their initial or renewal audit of the quality system for controlling the production or product should issue a Certificate of Conformity, in a similar manner as for ISO9000 series certification. For intermediate surveillance visits, a report or letter should be issued on which any additional products covered or product modifications are recorded.

Modules F and G

On satisfactory completion of the inspection, the NB issues a Certificate of Conformity for the product or batch of products accepted during the inspection and arranges for the “ Mark of Conformity” to be affixed to those products.

The manufacturer must produce the above documents on request to the Flag Member State Administration when requested.
