Re-transmittable sender process: UK21/N009

Adopted EU recommendation NAV-029. UK approved recommendation on the re-transmittable sender process as outlined in IEC 61162-450 (2018).

Question

In IEC 61162-450 (2018) there appears to be a mismatch in the description of the re-transmittable sender process in section 7.3.6.2 and the illustration in the same process in Figure 4.

Figure 4 includes a step (o) for “Transfer not successful”, but this information is not included in the text description of the process as set out in Section 7.3.6.2.

Please can the correct process be clarified?

Recommendation

The processing steps as set out in Section 7.3.6.2 of IEC 61162-450 (2018) should be understood to include a step (o) after step (n) for “otherwise (i.e. transfer not successful)” with the following two numeric steps, as included in Figure 4: 1. clear the sending buffer, 2. go to step a).

The validity of this recommendation will expire following the publication of the revision of IEC/EN 61162-450 (2018).
