UK guidance on ETSI EN 300-338-7: UK24/R001

UK approved recommendation UK24/R001 on the ETSI EN 300-338-7 testing standards note under category UK/5.10, UK/5.11, UK/5.14, and UK/5.15 of MSN 1874 amendment 9.

Question

MSN 1874 amendment 9 indicates in UK/5.1 and UK/5.2 that UK does not require ETSI EN 300-338-7 until IMO finalise their discussion regarding DSC within the BAM concept. Should this note be extended to UK/5.10, UK/5.11, UK/5.14, and UK/5.15?

Recommendation

As per MSN 1874 amendment 9, there is a caveat to note that until IMO finalise their discussion regarding DSC within the BAM concept the UK does not require ETSI EN 300-338-7 V1.1.1:2022-04. This was applied to UK/5.1 and UK/5.2, omitting UK/5.10, UK/5.11, UK/5.14, and UK/5.15.

As such, the note will also apply to UK/5.10, UK/5.11, UK/5.14, and UK/5.15 of MSN 1874 amendment 9.

This will be updated in MSN 1874 amendment 10 when published.
