Hazard
3M has identified that X4 earmuffs manufactured between March 2020 through September 2022 may develop visible cracks on the exterior surface of the cups.
Therefore, the products do not comply with Regulation (EU) 2016/425 on Personal Protective Equipment, nor with the Essential health and safety requirements (3.5 Protection against the harmful effects of noise).

Corrective action
Recall of the product from end users.
3M has advised that the product, manufactured between March 2020 - September 2022, has been recalled.
3M has sent a notification to authorised distributors who in turn have been instructed to notify customers to whom they have sold the product. In addition, distributors have been asked to check any affected stock in their inventory and send it back to 3M.
