Hazard

The product presents a serious risk of electric shock as it is insufficiently earthed, and is supplied with a ‘clover’ style plug which does not meet the requirements of the relevant standard, BS 1363. There is less than 9.5mm between the edge of the live pin and the side of the plug face, meaning it is possible for users to touch the live pin when plugging in, or unplugging the plug from the socket. The product also requires improvement to marking, labelling and documentation.

The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.

Corrective action

OPSS are requiring the recall of the product from end users.
