Hazard
The product has been recalled as it was discovered that a small number of Dräger particle filters that are also used in their combination respiratory protection filters do not fully achieve the required particle filtration efficiency. The reduced filtration performance of the respiratory protection filters can result in more particles than usual being inhaled. As the user will not notice any change in particle filtration efficiency, increased inhalation of particles is possible. This can lead to irritation of the airways, and in the longer term to respiratory diseases.
The affected products do not meet the requirements of the Personal Protective Equipment (Enforcement) Regulations 2018.
Corrective action
Recall of the product from end users. Dräger has contacted consumers who purchased the product directly, advising them to stop using and return any of the products listed above for a free replacement.
