Hazard

This product poses a serious risk of choking as when subjected to tension tests, both the zip puller and rigid polymer nose detached. Both parts fit wholly within the small parts cylinder indicating they pose a choking hazard to a young child.

The product’s inner seams did not withstand a 70-newton seam strength test and gave access to the filling material. The supplied polymer bag also poses a suffocation hazard as it was sufficiently large to be able to cover a child’s mouth and nose simultaneously. It does not bear any warnings that this has been calculated to pose a risk.

The product failed flammability testing and therefore also poses a fire risk. There was also no Permanent Labelling or Wording as required by Schedule 7 of The Furniture and Furnishings (fire) (safety) Regulations 1988.

The product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005 and the Furniture and Furnishings (fire) (safety) Regulations 1988.

Corrective action

The product has been recalled from end users.

The listing has also been removed by the online marketplace (Amazon)
