Hazard
The product has been recalled as it presents a high risk due to having a lack of protection from electric shock. When tested, it was identified that the basic insulated cable can be touched with a finger. A distance of 2.6mm was measured between the lamp cap and the test finger, this is below the minimum required values of 3mm for clearance and 5mm for creepage. The product did not meet the requirements of the insulation resistance test between live parts and foil over the lamp holder with the lamp in position. The lamp holder used is only rated at 125V, the product maximum voltage rating is 240V and some of the required documentation and markings were not present.
The product does not comply with the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
Corrective action
Recall of the product from end users. The Etsy seller has contacted customers directly. The listing has been removed by the online marketplace (Etsy).
