Hazard

The product presents a serious risk of electric shock as it is possible to access live parts without tools. A user or young child could remove the cover of the colourful element without tools and receive an electric shock. The wires attaching the bulbs can also detach at a force of below 10N, exposing live wires. The cross-sectional area of the wiring is too thin (8 times less than required in the standard), which could allow the wires to overheat and catch alight, causing a fire.

The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.

Corrective action

The product has been recalled from end users and withdrawn from the market by the distributor Master News (AG Food and Wine Limited).
