Manufacturing period Affected products contain cells manufactured between March 2017 and September 2018.
Product description Lithium-ion storage batteries installed as part of a residential energy solar panel system (‘ESS Home Batteries’). The ESS Home Batteries are equipped with certain cells manufactured between April 2017 and September 2018, which are potentially linked to specific electrode manufacturing issues that could result in thermal instability resulting in an overheating incident.

Hazard

The ESS Home Batteries can overheat, presenting a risk of fire and emission of harmful smoke/vented gases. The product has been identified as presenting a low risk in accordance with the RAPEX risk assessment methodology.

Corrective action
