Hazard
Minor cracks in the sensor thermistor chip may reduce electrical resistance in the thermistor, causing the temperature sensor to relay incorrect water temperatures (but not >46C°). This can cause the water to be hotter than the set temperature, presenting a risk of burns and injuries.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
Corrective action
Owners of affected spas in the UK have been contacted directly by the manufacturer or via distributors to arrange the replacement of the sensor (part # 6600-551).
Owners who own an affected unit and have not yet had their sensor replaced should use an accurate external thermometer to confirm the water temperature prior to entering the hot tub until the hot tub is confirmed not to have the affected temperature sensor.
