Product Description White plastic 13amp and 3amp three pin plugs with three silver screws on the inner face. The affected plugs have been fitted by multiple installers to single ovens, hobs and cooker hood extractors in new build houses.

Hazard

The plugs present a serious risk of fire as it has been identified that they can overheat and melt, due to a fault with the plug’s fuse. As a result of the overheating, the plug may spark and catch fire, causing damage to the socket and surrounding areas. Removing the damaged plug from the socket may also pose a risk of electrocution or electric shock.

The plug does not meet the requirements of the Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.

Corrective action

The products have been withdrawn from the market and recalled from end users. All installers have been informed of the recall and will be in contact with affected consumers to check the plugs.

If you have a plug product covered by this announcement installed in your home and attached to a single oven, you must stop using the oven immediately.

If your plug is accessible, please check visually to see whether you have either of these affected plugs fitted to your appliances. Do not touch the plug without first switching off the power to the socket.

If your plug is not accessible, please contact your installer (if they have not already contacted you) and they will arrange a time to inspect your plugs and change them if they are affected by this recall.
