Hazard
The product presents a risk of electric shock as the plug does not meet the constructional or dimensional requirements of BS 1363. As the neutral pin does not meet the required minimum distance of 9.5mm to the outside edge, the user could receive an electric shock when inserting or removing the plug from the socket. The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets (Safety) Regulations 1994.
Corrective action
Owners are advised to stop using the product immediately. The importer has withdrawn the product from the market and instructed each retailer to recall affected products sold to end users.
