Hazard
The product has been recalled due to the business identifying a manufacturing defect. It was found that the edges of the tea light cup may melt which could potentially cause safety issues. The candles have a stronger flame than normal due to a higher amount of the essential oil ingredients added to this particular batch of tealights. This flame can cause the sides of the tealight holders to melt which could result in a fire.
The product does not meet the requirements of The General Product Safety Regulations 2005.
Corrective action
Recall of the product from end users.
Customers are asked to contact the manufacturer directly to send the faulty products back and to receive a replacement. Letters are being sent to all customers of the product either directly by the manufacturer or via the distributor.
