Hazard
The product presents a serious risk of fire as the transformer was of poor build quality and the primary and secondary windings were found to be touching. This potentially presents hazards of fire, explosions and/or electric shock.
The fuse on the plug did not contain ballast and was considered to be counterfeit. Whilst the user is using the product, a failure in the electrical system may occur, and the counterfeit fuse may fail to prevent fire and explosion causing the user to receive burns.
This product does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 and the Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.
Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border.
