Hazard
It is reasonably foreseeable that a child could confuse the magnets with the food items it was designed to imitate.
The product is capable of fitting into a small parts cylinder, presenting a choking hazard for a child under 3yrs of age.
When tested, all five of the magnets were found to have a magnetic flux index above 50 kG2mm2 and an average across the sample of 87.4 kG2mm2.
If two or more magnets are swallowed, there is a risk that the magnets become drawn to each other in the digestive system, which could cause serious injury or death if medical attention is not sought immediately.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Food Imitations (Safety) Regulations 1989.
Corrective action
The product has been voluntarily withdrawn from the market.
