Hazard

The product presents a high risk of fire as the creepage and clearance distances within the charger are insufficient, which could cause the components to overheat and ignite. The battery and the transformer on the charger were of a poor build quality, with wires soldered directly to the PCB, which could lead to overheating and a fire or explosion in the case of a short circuit. No fuse was present on the output to protect the battery pack from overcurrent conditions. The battery charging input and output cables also were not sufficiently protected against stress.

The plug does not meet the dimensional requirements of the relevant standard, exposing the user to the risk of electric shock. The fuse also did not meet the requirements of the relevant standard, presenting a risk of fire or explosion under fault conditions. The product also requires improvement to marking, labelling and documentation.

The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets (Safety) Regulations 1994.
