Hazard: The product presents a serious risk of fire and explosion.
Corrective action: GB suppliers have been asked to stop selling Diferro calender presses containing an oil-filled heated drum until further notice. GB suppliers have been asked to inform all persons previously supplied with Diferro calendar presses containing an oil-filled heated drum that the machines must not be operated using the weekly programming function and must not be left unattended whilst connected to power.

Sublimation calender presses within the scope of the corrective action have been identified as presenting a serious risk of fire and explosion.
There is potential for the oil-filled drum to overheat during operation. If left unattended, which use of the weekly programming function allows, this overheating can lead to the catastrophic failure of the drum. Rupture of the drum containing the pressurized oil, which is at or above its boiling point, can cause an explosion.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008.
Corrective action
GB suppliers have been asked to stop selling Diferro calender presses containing an oil-filled heated drum until further notice.
GB suppliers have been asked to inform all persons previously supplied with Diferro calender presses containing an oil-filled heated drum (DP-series, MP-series, DM-series, etc), that until further notice:
- These machines must not be operated using the weekly programming function.
- These machines must not be left unattended whilst connected to power.
