Hazard

The product presents a high risk as the kettle of electric shock redirects steam into the plastic handle and base which may lead to condensation building up on the switch electrical contacts. This may also cause the kettle to be dropped, resulting in a potential scald/burns hazard.

During testing, it was also identified that there was moisture ingress at the base of the kettle. With excessive use, water could build up in the base and potentially cause hazards of scalding or burns. Some of the required documentation was not present.

The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.

Corrective action

The product has been withdrawn from the market.
