Hazard
The product presents a high risk of injuries as electrical and rotating parts are unguarded and fully accessible. The product also lacked any cut off feature and kept moving despite an item being trapped during testing. If a user were to catch a body part in the unguarded moving parts they could receive serious injuries.
The internal build quality is inadequate and could result in the user receiving an electric shock as the transformer did not have the required creepage and clearance distances. The products plug face does not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1363 as the distance from the outside edge to the neutral pin measured too small. This may result in the plug making an improper connection with the socket, leading to a risk of fire or explosion. In addition, the plug’s incompatible dimensions could result in the user receiving an electric shock when inserting or removing the plug from the socket. The fuse did not contain a ballast.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 or the Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.
