The product presents a high risk of fire because there was no charge controller, battery management system or temperature monitoring observed within the product. Temperature monitoring should be present to verify the cells are not above their safe charging temperature. This is especially important as the product must be sited to allow the sun to charge the cells through the solar panel, which will cause cell temperatures to increase.
The product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.
