Hazard
The product presents a high risk of fire as the plug provided with the product did not have an adequate fuse. Under fault conditions, the product would not have a fuse to protect it from overheating and igniting, causing a fire. The product also presents a risk of electric shock as the plug pins are too close to the edge of the plug face.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 and the Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.
Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border and destroyed.
