Hazard

The product presents a serious risk of choking as the sequins can easily detach from all three gonks, producing a small part. Additionally, the seams on the red gonk were too weak, enabling access to internal fibrous filling material and an internal plastic bag containing small stones/grit. The seam of this internal bag also split when a force of 40 N was applied, giving users access to the stones. Both the sequins and stones were able to fit entirely inside of a small parts cylinder, and therefore presents a choking hazard to young children if they were to put the product in their mouth.

The product does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011.

Corrective action

The import has been rejected and destroyed at the border.
