Hazard
The product presents a high risk of fire as the product’s fuse had insecurely fixed endcaps. Under fault conditions, the fuse may not be able to function and could lead to the product overheating, causing a fire. Additionally, the supply cord was inappropriately sized, making it prone to overheating and breaking, presenting a risk of fire. Improvements are also required to marking, labelling and documentation.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 or the Plugs & Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.
Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border and destroyed.
