Hazard
The product presents a risk of choking as the fishing rod handle broke during impact test, and the fishing rod string broke during tension test, which created small parts that fit wholly into a small parts cylinder. A young child may place the small parts into their mouth and choke.
The magnet on the fish was found to have a magnetic flux of 75.6 kG²mm²., which is greater than the maximum permissible level of 50 kG²mm². Small, high-powered magnetic products can be easily swallowed and, when ingested, have the potential to cause serious internal injuries within the gastrointestinal tract.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011.
Corrective action
OPSS are requiring the withdrawal of the product from the market.
