Hazard
The product presents a serious risk of electric shock as it’s inadequately earthed. The earthing terminal had not been locked against accidental loosening and the earthing continuity relied upon the flexible tubes between the main body of the appliance and the waffle plates which was not properly secured. If the clamping or tubes became loose over time, the lack of earthing would make it likely that the product’s metal parts would give the consumer an electric shock. The instructions were considered to be inadequate as they did not contain sufficient information to ensure the correct and safe use of the equipment.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
Corrective action
Import has been rejected at the border.
