Hazard

The product presents a serious risk of electric shock as the breadths of the live and neutral pins do not comply with the British Standard as they were less than the minimum permitted of 6.22mm, presenting a risk of electric shock. The dimensions of the sleeved parts of the pins differed from the metal parts of the pins. This resulted in a distinct step between the two. This could cause damage to the socket and undue wear and tear to the sleeve, presenting a further risk of electric shock.

The sample had not been supplied with a clear, understandable and intelligible set of instructions to ensure the safe and correct assembly, installation, use and maintenance of the equipment.

The product does not meet the requirements of the Plugs & Sockets (Safety) Regulations 1994.
