Hazard

The product presents a high risk of fire and burns as poor internal and external construction can lead the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) to become damaged over time, which can produce a spark and ignite, causing a fire and burns. The product’s fuse was insufficient, and had a separate wire soldered to the outside of the fuse to increase its carrying capacity, increasing the risk of a fire under fault conditions. The product also required improvements to marking, labelling and documentation.

The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.

Corrective action

The import has been rejected at the border and destroyed.
