The product presents a risk of fire as it is insufficiently earthed and was not fitted with a compliant fuse. Under fault conditions, this could lead the plug to overheat, explode, and ignite, causing a fire and the consumer to experience burns. The product’s external and internal build quality was also insufficient. The product also requires improvements to labelling, warnings and documentation.

The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets (Safety) Regulations 1994.
