Wines belonging to the category of ‘appellation d’origine contrôlée’ or ‘appellation d’origine de qualité supérieure’ wines and comply additionally with the following requirements: – come from grape must witch has an initial natural alcoholic strength of not less than 12% vol, – have an actual alcoholic strength of not less than 15% vol and not more than 22% vol, – have a total alcoholic strength of not less than 17,5% vol.
