Traditional term for wine

Summary

The term refers to the product type and to the corresponding production method. The terms ‘passito’ and ‘vino passito’ are reserved for PDO and PGI wines obtained from the fermentation of grapes through natural or artificial drying in accordance with the product specifications. Except as provided for pre-existing designations, the term ‘vino passito liquoroso’ is applied only to PGI wines.
