Summary

This traditional term is a synonym of the term ‘protected designation of origin’, used to describe sparkling wines obtained by first alcoholic fermentation from fresh grapes or must and second alcoholic fermentation from wine suitable for obtaining quality or top-quality wines. Sparkling wines bearing the traditional term ‘Vrhunsko pjenušavo vino’ must have an actual alcoholic strength of not less than 10 % vol.
