ACCC Resource Manual: Reflections on Adaptation Planning Processes and Experiences

Abstract

All over the world, governments need a process for planning how to adapt to climate change. But there is no one-size-fits-all model for adaptation — or for adaptation planning. The Resource Manual reviews the approach, methods and lessons from this programme. ACCC’s experience of adaptation planning across three diverse regions does not offer a standard model to be replicated, but it does highlight common features. The manual introduces phases for the adaptation planning processand key principles for resilient adaptation. It also describes how ACCC researchers dealt with some of their toughest challenges. We hope that others can learn from these experiences.
